About us
How We Make a Difference
The impact of cancer on children can be far reaching. Whether through their own ill health or that of a parent or sibling it brings challenges & changes to the lived experience of these children.
Antics mission is to help children & young people affected by cancer by raising money to provide something a little extra that has particular value or meaning to each child.
Practical gifts for children & families
Cancer can have a financial impact on families, making it difficult to afford items that could bring practical benefits, or the special gift that would be so treasured.
This is something we aim to help with. The purchase of special toys, musical instruments , TV’s, computers have all helped make a difference.
Sometimes it is just about giving a child a reason to smile. For some it helps provide a positive focus, helping pass the time & stay connected with friends, school & interests through periods of necessary isolation. For each child it is about a gift that supports their unique circumstance & wishes.
Wishes & experiences
The impact of cancer on ‘regular family time’ for children can be huge. In addition to financial pressures family time can be dominated by the demands of treatment regimes or limited by health restrictions. Some face the anticipation of loss others are adjusting to a significant bereavement.
We aim to sponsor memorable experiences for children in these circumstances.
Theme parks, football grounds, holidays, horse whispering, wrestling tournaments … each child has their own dream!
Fulfilling wishes, enjoying the moment, creating memories.

Fundraising events and initiatives
The help we are able to offer to children affected by cancer relies upon donations & the success of fundraising events.
We will host organised fundraising events from time to time but we also need to encourage others to fundraise on our behalf.
Any individual, group or business interested in nominating Antics as the beneficial charity to their fundraising activity or event should contact us. We will always be happy to help with advertising & promoting your efforts.
Community support and awareness
Antics is a small charity based in the local area of Witney in Oxfordshire. We can consider referrals nationally but will prioritise assisting children either living or receiving treatment in our area.
We have received great support from friends & neighbours & would like to continue growing that among local social groups & businesses. We would like our wider community to understand what we do, get involved in supporting us & to be proud of the contribution we are able to make to the lives of the children we help.

I would just like to say to The Antics Charity that you went above and beyond your remit yesterday, and during the week before, to sort out the iPad for, who is in Bristol Children’s Hospital. He is at that age that he wants to be all grown up and independent, but is still really a little boy, and his frustration at having to be in hospital, for such long periods at a time, is palpable. You have worked so hard to get him his wish. The trustees love the back story about Antics the horse. You keep it all running smoothly, quietly, and kindly.

Meet the gorgeous boy! We had a lovely email from his mum thanking us for his iPad, which they say has been invaluable on their many hospital visits. He was diagnosed with Leukaemia last August & is undergoing very intense chemo of 156 weeks. He has just come to the end of delayed intensification & is about to start maintenance for the next two and a half years. Through all of this, he keeps smiling!
